We’re happy to announce the release of version 2.1

Version 2.1 brings in a significant new feature… “Pages”. With pages you can create informational pages on your shopping cart. So now you can put extra information about your services, about your business, contact information, everything.

You can also create menu items that will redirect back to your website (if you have a separate website).

We’ll be posting more videos and information on this in the future.

There are also a number of other smaller modifications and bug fixes.

- Added currency symbol to client show photo page
- Changed mail that is sent to customers to come from contact email instead of a noreply address
- Changed order notification email to come from customer email address
- Changed the email that gets sent to clients from “Hi [Username]” to “Hi [Firstname]”
- Fixed a bug where background wasn’t updating in settings->design

Existing customers can get the latest version from their original download link. A support ticket can be purchased for assistance with upgrading.

New customers will automatically get the latest version.

Soon we’re rolling out a feature called “Pages”.

Pages will allow you to have content pages on your Photography Orders shopping cart, so you can post information about your services and your business.

We’re looking for customers who want to test out this feature and give us feedback on it before we launch it to all our users.

We’re just released a new version of Photography Orders, now with Payfast as a payment option you can offer your customers.

Payfast is a popular payment provider in South Africa.

If you’re an existing customer, you can download the new update from the download link you received in the confirmation email when you first purchased.

Today we are releasing our new administration interface for Photography Orders!

The interface is still very easy to use, and now it has been given a face lift so that it’s more appealing as well.

Why did we do this?

Firstly, Photography Orders is now a hell of a lot sexier!

Also, as our current users will know, before today, the admin theme was exactly the same as the front end theme (the front end theme is the theme your clients see). If you changed your theme for clients, your admin theme changed. Therefore, if you wanted to create a theme for your users, it would also affect your administration area as well.

In upcoming versions, we’re rolling out a bunch of new front end themes very soon, and separating the administration theme from the theme the clients see makes it a lot easier to make really fantastic themes for Photography Orders – not just for us, but for web designers as well.

Stay tuned for the new front end themes! And designers stay tuned for a new and simpler way to make themes for Photography Orders!

We’ve just released integration with another payment option – Sagepay.

Sagepay is a service that allows you to accept credit cards.

Photography Orders now accepts:

• Paypal
• Offline Payment
• Authorize.net
• Skrill (Moneybookers)
• Sagepay

The release is now live – existing customers can download an update version of the software from the download link in their original email. New customers will receive the latest version.

We’re excited to announce that after a couple of months of beta testing, Photography Orders version 2 is now released.

Some of the enhancements in version 2:

• Sub categories in galleries
• Customise email templates
• The interface has been improved. We’ve made the program flow faster and look nicer
• We’ve completely rewritten Photography Orders. We did this because we have massive plans on the horizon, and rewriting the code base is going to allow us to add a lot more features soon

Unfortunately, you can’t directly upgrade from version 1 to version 2. When you upgrade to version 2, you will need to setup from scratch and reupload all of your galleries.

Photography Orders 2.0 is already available for download when you complete your purchase, and existing customers can download it using the link in the email they received after they purchased.

I am very pleased with your program “photography orders” It is everything that I have been looking for. I recently received this query from a customer.

I was checking out your product (Photography Orders) and wondered if you could integrate with a Photobiz.com website. I’m exploring various options for a shopping cart, but I’m completely clueless when it comes to what’s required (code in the actual website? A new domain name? Who’s hosting? etc). Would you be able to give me a little more info?

I get variants of this question a lot, so I thought I’d post the answer here.

So PhotoBiz is a hosted application. That means, your website with them always has to be hosted with them. Also, Photobiz don’t allow you certain access to the hosting account, so we can’t install Photography Orders on Photobiz servers.

This means, to integrate a Photobiz website with a Photography Orders shopping cart, you need another web hosting account for Photography Orders, and then you can place a link on your Photobiz website to Photography Orders.

So for hosting, there are a few options. We have a hosted account option, or you can sign up with another web host like Dreamhost. Here is a bit more information about hosting: http://www.photographyorders.com/hosting/

In terms of the domain, you can point a subdomain of johndoephotography.com to your Photography Orders. So for example, you could make clients.johndoephotography.com the address for Photography Orders.

You can also get a subdomain of Photography Orders. So for example, johndoe.photographyorders.com

The last option people sometimes choose is to register a new domain for Photography Orders – so for example, johndoeclients.com
