This is Thom and I would like to take a moment and say thankyou for your help in setting up my web site. I am very pleased with your program “photography orders” It is everything that I have been looking for. I appreciate the time you spent in helping me work thru problems and issues necessary to get my site working the way I want it. I spent a couple weeks testing the site to ensure it works. I tried it with paypal and ordered a couple of photos from my self and it worked great. I spent a lot of time searching for the right program to allow clients to view and by photos on line from my site. I am truly glad I chose Photography Orders. Your hosting service is great and I am looking forward to us working together for many years to come.

Thanks again

Thom

How can I integrate Photography Orders with my Photobiz website? http://www.photographyorders.com/2011/08/how-can-i-integrate-photography-orders-with-my-photobiz-website/ http://www.photographyorders.com/2011/08/how-can-i-integrate-photography-orders-with-my-photobiz-website/#comments Tue, 02 Aug 2011 03:05:05 +0000 Luke http://www.photographyorders.com/?p=878

I recently received this query from a customer.

I was checking out your product (Photography Orders) and wondered if you could integrate with a Photobiz.com website. I’m exploring various options for a shopping cart, but I’m completely clueless when it comes to what’s required (code in the actual website? A new domain name? Who’s hosting? etc). Would you be able to give me a little more info?

I get variants of this question a lot, so I thought I’d post the answer here.

So PhotoBiz is a hosted application. That means, your website with them always has to be hosted with them. Also, Photobiz don’t allow you certain access to the hosting account, so we can’t install Photography Orders on Photobiz servers.

This means, to integrate a Photobiz website with a Photography Orders shopping cart, you need another web hosting account for Photography Orders, and then you can place a link on your Photobiz website to Photography Orders.

So for hosting, there are a few options. We have a hosted account option, or you can sign up with another web host like Dreamhost. Here is a bit more information about hosting: http://www.photographyorders.com/hosting/

In terms of the domain, you can point a subdomain of johndoephotography.com to your Photography Orders. So for example, you could make clients.johndoephotography.com the address for Photography Orders.

You can also get a subdomain of Photography Orders. So for example, johndoe.photographyorders.com

The last option people sometimes choose is to register a new domain for Photography Orders – so for example, johndoeclients.com

Cosh Photography – Very user friendly.. highly recommended http://www.photographyorders.com/2011/01/cosh-photography-very-user-friendly-highly-recommended/ http://www.photographyorders.com/2011/01/cosh-photography-very-user-friendly-highly-recommended/#comments Tue, 11 Jan 2011 04:43:58 +0000 Luke http://www.photographyorders.com/?p=808

Having our photo cart hosted by a third party and paying substantial monthly fees, we were keen to find a cost effective alternative and luckily stumbled upon Photography Orders.

We upload a large amount of data, so I was a little worried about upload times- but I have found the program is quick to upload and watermark images. It was installed onto my website by Luke the very next day and he was kind enough to answer all my questions and requests quickly. I also like that it is very user friendly for my clients, guiding them through the ordering process simply. I highly recommended it.

Announcing Photography Orders Hosting http://www.photographyorders.com/2011/01/announcing-photography-orders-hosting/ http://www.photographyorders.com/2011/01/announcing-photography-orders-hosting/#comments Tue, 11 Jan 2011 04:40:58 +0000 Luke http://www.photographyorders.com/?p=805

With the release of v1.4.1 of Photography Orders, we’re also announcing we’re bringing back our hosting plan.

While Photography Orders is simple software, it does some heavy lifting behind the scenes, especially when it’s uploading and resizing images.

Because of this, a lot of the hosting plans that Photography Orders used to work on, will no longer be able to support Photography Orders.

We’ve created a hosting plan that allows for unlimited photos and unlimited galleries so that you don’t have to worry about if Photography Orders will work on your web host. The hosting plan is finely tweaked for Photography Orders, and because we work with so many photographers, you won’t get support that makes you want to slap your head.

To ease the transition from your existing account to a Photography Orders hosting account, we’re offering free migrations – that is, we’ll get your site off your existing host, and set it up for you for no extra cost.

The introductory price is $30/month. You can cancel at any time, however if you leave in the first 12 months, you can’t take Photography Orders with you. After 12 months, the license is fully yours, the same as if you’d bought it outright.

Happy Snapping!

So it has been a while in the making, but I’m happy to announce the latest version of Photography Orders is now on sale.

Version 1.4.1 has been highly anticipated because of the added functionality of digital downloads.

I’d like to thank a number of beta testers who helped me out by rigorously testing the software.

Thanks all, and happy snapping.

A big thank you + upcoming features http://www.photographyorders.com/2010/09/a-big-thank-you-upcoming-features/ http://www.photographyorders.com/2010/09/a-big-thank-you-upcoming-features/#comments Wed, 22 Sep 2010 10:04:17 +0000 Luke http://www.photographyorders.com/?p=742

Firstly, thank you to everyone who has helped give direction on our new Uservoice Forum, by voting on upcoming features. It’s great to have customers that are willing to help improve the product for everyone.

I’d like to make a quick announcement that based on the feedback, we’ve started development on the coupons feature. Photographers will be able to enter fixed price or percentage based discounts, that customers can claim when they are checking out.

The current plan is to release it in the next 2-4 weeks. Stay tuned…

We want your feature ideas! http://www.photographyorders.com/2010/09/we-want-your-feature-ideas/ http://www.photographyorders.com/2010/09/we-want-your-feature-ideas/#comments Sun, 12 Sep 2010 01:22:39 +0000 Luke http://www.photographyorders.com/?p=740

Lately, improving Photography Orders has fallen to the wayside. As you might know, Photography Orders is a product that we’ve developed as a web design and development firm, VDP Websites. Lately, we’ve been very busy building websites for clients, and just haven’t had the time to devote to Photography Orders.

Not anymore! We’re hiring a developer who will be dedicated to improving Photography Orders.

What it means to you is that Photography Orders is going to get new features.

Your chance to get a say in what happens

As a photographer, you know better than most how we can improve Photography Orders. So we’ve setup a way for you to recommend and vote on features you’d like to see.

It’s easy, just go to http://photographyorders.uservoice.com and start voting!
