How is Photography Orders licensed?

You buy a license to Photography Orders for one domain outright. Even the hosted option (option 3), after 12 months, you can take the software with you to another web host.

What are the system requirements for Photography Orders?

If you are not going with option 3, you will need a web server with:

  • PHP 5 with the GD2 extension installed
  • MySQL

The majority of web hosts will have these features installed. Photographer’s are encouraged to check with us if unsure.

On your local computer you need:

  • Java virtual machine, which you can download for free from here.

Do I need to download any uploader tools?

Nope. You upload photos from inside Photography Orders. It’s as simple as pie really.

Do I need to resize or rotate photos before uploading them?

No. Photos are automatically resized before being uploaded, and photos can be rotated on the fly once they’re in a gallery.

We’re pretty confident you’ll find it much easier than post producing in Photoshop.

Clients are redirected to Paypal to place orders.

When an order is placed, you will receive an email from Paypal with shipping details, a list of the photos ordered, and the sizes.

Do I need a Paypal account?

Yes. You can get a paypal account from http://www.paypal.com

Alternatively, you can use Google Checkout to accept orders. Whatever floats your boat.

Not yet, but probably in the future.

Can I have different prices for different types of photography?

Yes, you can have different price lists. For example – if you want a different price list for portrait photos than wedding photos.

When you’re setting up a gallery, you can select which price list it uses.
